It is observed that people are lazy to eat a balanced meal or the fairy tale story that almost all Nigerians live below 1 dollar has eaten into your deep brain. But here are some steps on how to prepare a balanced yam porridge.

RECIPE: Yam, Palm Oil, Pepper, Salt, Onion, Maggi, Crayfish (ground), Smoked Fish (optional), Tomato (optional), Leafy Vegetables (optional)

METHOD- Peel the yam, wash and cut into desired cubes, put into a clean pot and pour water (do not add too much water), cover the pot and put it on the fire.

-After 5 minutes, add ground pepper, onion, salt, tomato (little) and oil. Cover it and let it cook.

-After a while, add the Norway lobsters and smoked fish.

-When the yam is ready and the water has been greatly reduced, add leafy vegetables and mash until you get the desired porridge paste.

-Let it simmer for 2 minutes, lower and serve hot.

This may seem abstract to some people but the real fact is just that, it is one of the best foods the average man in Nigeria can afford to eat. The recipe is readily available on the market and relatively cheap to purchase. Now I know that your tongue must have been feeling the taste like never before. If so, fantastic!
