So you are one of the lucky ones who got a Wii console. Welcome to a whole

New dimension in games! But getting hold of the console itself is just the beginning. You can have

have fun dressing up your Wii with state-of-the-art accessories. But great accessories are not only

for your gaming systems! There is a full line of Nintendo clothing available for you to advertise.

your love of games. If you are looking for a great gift for a loved one who likes Nintendo

games, look no further.

At first I had a hard time trying to classify the necessary elements vs. recommended items.

Then there are the elements that are just plain fun. (And after all, isn’t that what it’s all about?) Here

are some of the accessories you can get for your Nintendo Wii, and for yourself or someone who

to worry:

1. Silicone covers are recommended for your Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers. They are

Also made for the classic controller (the kind with the cable that looks the most like controllers

you’re used to seeing). They improve grip, keep controllers clean and help prevent

Damage from scratches, dents and drops. Plus, they look great and come in a wide variety of

colors including solid, two-tone, and patterns … even some glow-in-the-dark! My tie-dye

Skin glows in the dark, and I didn’t realize this until I got home and noticed that my bag was glowing! They are custom made for Wii controllers, so only the buttons and sensors are

exposed. The masks come in a hard lace variety that are a bit easier to remove, but I haven’t actually seen them in real life. In addition to the skins for the controllers, there are skins

that you can get for the game console itself.

2. Use the wrist strap. It will prevent your wiimote from flying around the room. They come with

Wiimote, but they also come in different colors with some of the skin sets. For only $ 3 you

can be upgraded to a colored leather wrist strap.

3. The nunchuk controller does not come with the Wii system, but it is highly recommended for

the use of 2 hands that we have all become accustomed to. It connects directly to your Wiimote. Some will

even go so far as to advise against playing without the nunchuk controller and that should

come with the system.

4. Rechargeable batteries: the Wiimote runs on AA batteries. They can eat your

batteries quickly, so I suggest you invest a few extra bucks in some rechargeable

batteries and a unit for recharging. It just plugs directly into a normal outlet. Buy a replacement set for

a game can load while playing a new game. It would be very disappointing if

you had to put your game aside due to low batteries.

5. Nyko’s charging station is a unit that charges two Wiimotes at the same

hour. The battery unit on the back is rubberized for a better grip and has a groove to make contact

with the charging unit. The downside to this is that you cannot charge your Wiimotes with the

skins on. I like skins as they keep controllers clean. So personally we will use

removable rechargeable AA batteries for that very reason. But many gamers like the idea of

be able to simply plug the Wiimotes back into the charger cradle when the game is over, no

replace the batteries, and if enough time has passed, next time you will have fully charged the Wiimotes

you are ready to play again.

6. The Nyko Wireless Sensor Bar improves reception between your Wiimote and your console.

It is recommended to use if you are going to play in a large room and will have your controllers

more than 10 feet from the console, as you might have if you plan to play on a large

screen television.

7. Wireless network adapters, such as the USB wireless device for the Wii system (resembles a

USB flash drive and connects to any USB port) and LAN adapter, only needed if

you are not using a wireless modem or router. If your home is set up for wireless internet connection

access, you are ready. The Nintendo Wii gaming system is configured to connect to your Wi-Fi.

8. There are a large number of control devices to use with certain games. There is direction

wheels for racing games, a tennis racket, a golf club, a baseball bat, an “archery” type device for

Link’s crossbow, a pistol, and the other day on You Tube I noticed a sword and a shield that

attach to your Wiimote! You can get into some serious games with all these

contraption.

9. You can get jewelry and clothes to show your love for the game. My personal favorite is a

very, very soft fine cotton, navy blue t-shirt that says “Mario Bros. Plumbing Company” and has

Mario and Luigi in the front. The three forces logo from the Zelda games appears on both

necklace and various shirts. The necklace is quite nice. My girls saw it in me

site and now they desperately want it. These are teenage girls, mind you, but it’s definitely unisex.

jewels. You can also find a fun belt buckle that looks like the old original NES controller.

and briefs that present the good and evil of Mario games. There are Guitar Hero t-shirts

now too. Wallets, underwear, pajamas, hats, shirts, jewelry – so many options!

I’m sure this list will continue to grow with the evolution of the Nintendo Wii gaming system.

From control skins to t-shirts to jewelry, the avid Nintendo enthusiast can find cool things to do

satisfy your craving for fun.
