Online Video Marketing: Video Is The Future Because Generation X Is Growing Up

You will see video being used more and more for marketing.

The year that the internet sold for a billion dollars was the same year that I had predicted in the previous December that the following year would be the year of video. Now, video will become an increasing part of online marketing.

Because?

Because the younger generations that are rapidly gaining purchasing power are used to it. The members of Generation X are now 27 and 28 years old. They grew up with video games. They are used to video.

In the old days, you had to pay massive hosting fees or you had to host the video on a dedicated server which caused some issues with larger numbers of people watching the video at the same time.

Most people haven’t figured out how to use it yet. But they will.

For example, I had to do a lot of research to figure out how to use a player to play videos so I wouldn’t have to pay $30 a month for a service that did it for me. I realized that. But it was not easy. Regardless, the video now streams like a champ. In fact, I am amazed at how well videos play online.

One of my mentors actually quit TV because they just watch all their TV shows now. You can also watch sporting events online instead of on TV and they look great! As good as on TV.

It’s a new day when it comes to video. This is not two years ago!

The fact is that some 14 year old on the internet is making his own videos that look professional and will blow your mind. Combine that fact with this…

And make no mistake though your guru of choice

Here are some ways to use video:

* Video testimonials are very hot

* Video introductions to your sales letter can work

* Video compression pages successfully

* Email to video will be used more and more.

So you send an email that gets people to watch a short video. Keep your videos under 10 minutes. This is a hard rule to follow and I usually break it.

* Video sales presentations work great

While text sales letters still outperform video, video is faster and appeals to a younger demographic.

Use green screen abilities. A lot of the fun things you can do are possible when compositing with green screens. That means you record a video against a green screen, and then replace the green part with a photo or other video. Many of his great movies today use green screen. The SECRET to great green screens is to light the green screen evenly. I’ve seen people make a nice green screen using cheap fabric from the store or green poster board taped to a wall. The lighting is much more important than the fabric. Some people set up a small studio in their garage and use “task lights” to illuminate the green screen. It’s amazing what you can do cheaply if you have ingenuity.

lower thirds. You know how on news shows you see this little transparent block on the screen with text.

giving the name of the newscaster and his position? Those little blocks are called lower thirds. they are

always transparent. You will also see them a lot at sporting events. Some programs have really nice lower thirds built in. Some don’t.

Motion backgrounds. Some programs come with moving backgrounds that you can place for a title or in place of your green screen.

Masking skills. So you can take your video and mask your body outline. Then put on fun colors and make it look like you’re being lit up like in Startrek. How cool is that?

Support.Their low-end programs don’t offer much support. So you’ll need to look for user groups that support them.

This is where their high-end programs excel. There’s more support, more user groups, more plugins, more

resources. More of everything. But you will need that support because there is more of a learning curve.

how to choose

Now, in general, the main criteria are the following:

1. How fast do you learn? If you’re not tech-savvy, opt for a simple, low-cost program. Maximize your skills. Then look one step up.

2. Are you tech savvy? If you are tech-savvy, you can easily handle the software.

3. What is your budget? If you’re on a skinny rabbit budget, go for the lower end.

4. How professional do you want to look? More expensive programs have better titling effects and better masking and green screen capabilities.

But listen, using just cheap green screen and work lights, you can make an amazing video using a program.

A lot of it comes down to how resourceful you are or choose to be.

Video is the future because Gen Xers are growing up.
