Kitchen and Bath Cabinets – Let’s Renovate!

As an alternative to buying a completely new kitchen, you can give your kitchen a fresh new look by renovating your cabinets, which can save you a great deal of money and time. If your existing cabinets are in good condition, why get rid of them? Refacing is a great way to eliminate waste in your remodeling project which is a great way to go “green”.

Most kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects are inspired by the need for a new look. If you know your cabinets are in good condition, refinishing is a great option. When facing, you have the option to choose a new wood species, wood stain color, wood stain color, and door style. The sky is the limit. You can do something similar to your existing space or you can make a change to a completely new look.

The rebilling process is quite simple. The doors and drawers of your old cabinet are removed. If your drawer boxes are in good shape, they are reused. The “faces” and exposed sides of your cabinets are covered or repaired to match your new doors and drawer fronts. Usually replace your hardware (hinges and drawer/knobs and door pulls) unless your existing hardware is in good condition and you want to reuse it. The new door/drawer pulls and knobs will really add to the new look and appeal of the project. For most typical projects, installation takes about a week. This is very appealing to most people considering doing a complete kitchen remodel with new cabinets that could take months.
