JA Jance Betrayal of Trust

JA Jance Betrayal of Trust

A mysterious snuff video is discovered on a teenager’s phone. At first, the young woman in the video is smiling. Suddenly, the blue scarf around her neck tightens. Is she dead? Is this some kind of game? Who is the girl?

The young man of interest is the grandson of the Governor of Washington. The Governor needs help and asks for help from an old friend from high school, JP Beaumont. Beaumont and his partner Mel (both in work and in life) work for the Homicide Investigative Task Force.

Beaumont and Mel begin an investigation. The teenager denies everything and insists that he did not know the girl in the video. He is a young man who has a troubled past. His mother died of a drug overdose and his father was an addict. He is going through a bad time at school.

Can JP Beaumont and Mel help prove that the teen was not involved in this incident? It will be a difficult task as they find some incriminating evidence in his room. Is someone trying to frame him? What’s going on?

JA Jance is a skilled writer and really knows how to tell a story. The two main characters really keep the story moving. Mel is so well organized when it comes to an investigation that she even surprises Beau. Beau adds a great deal of humor throughout the story. This book really caught my interest and had no dull moments. The author does a wonderful job building the suspense from the beginning. As a result, the reader will keep guessing. The reader will feel like a companion to Mel and Beau as they glide through the highly engaging investigation. The reader will learn a lot of interesting things about a police investigation because the author gives detailed descriptions of what Mel and Beau are doing. JA Jance also brings to light a topic that has been in the news more and more recently. I have read several JA Jance books and each one just keeps getting better. Trust abuse is my favorite of all and leaves no doubt that JA Jance is a master storyteller. Betrayal of Trust is one of the best books I have read in years. JA Jance has done an excellent job writing this book.
