Introduction to elevator shoes
What are elevator shoes?
Elevator shoes are also known as height increasing shoes, elevator shoes, or tall shoes. They are specially designed to invisibly increase the height of the user. The basic idea is to put thick templates (risers), so that the user can get taller. (See “Indoor Elevator Shoes” for more information). Elevator shoes look normal from the outside. Well-designed elevator shoes are as comfortable as usual. It may take several days before the wears get used to it. Elevator shoes typically increase 2.5 to 4 inches in height. There are 5 inches of extra height, but they will lose comfort and are more noticeable.
History of elevator shoes
You can ask the question “Who invented elevator shoes?” The story goes back to the beginning of the 16th century when cowboy boots came out in Spain. Beginning in the 1700s, Cuban-heeled men’s footwear became popular along with a brief revival of men’s high-heeled shoes.[1]
In modern life, people are more concerned with health. People with flat feet feel uncomfortable when wearing normal shoes. Some of them try to put soft insoles inside the shoes to make them more comfortable. Also, orthopedic doctors sometimes recommend the use of thick insoles to help the patient increase height. Later, this type of thick and soft insoles became a shared secret within a particular group of people. Shoe manufacturers began to design special shoes with thick insoles and kept the normal look and comfort. They call it “Elevator Shoes” or “Height Increasing Shoes.”
In the past, height shoes are for men only, but in the late 1990s, elevator shoes for women appeared. Although women can wear high heels or platform shoes to increase height, some women do not want to show people that they wear high heels. High-rise shoes for women generally come with flat, low, or medium heels with a thick footbed.
Elevator shoes
It seems easy to put thick insoles inside the shoes, but it is not so easy to keep it comfortable and look normal. All components must be redesigned to achieve this goal.
A pair of high shoes consists of four parts:
Higher
The upper should be designed to fit the thick footbed. There is more slope between the face and the post. Also, the curve of the pole is higher than normal shoes.
Template
This is the magic part to increase the height. It can be made of plastic, cork, or foam. The front is lower than the rear. There are different designs on the slope and curve to suit different feet.
Midsole
Because the insole is generally made of a soft and expensive material, it is easy to wear out. The midsole provides a certain level of cushioning between the footbed and the outsole. Prevents the deterioration of your template and provides aeration.
Soles
The outer insole helps prevent the user from being uncomfortable and allows for a natural upper. Natural rubber heels can be replaced with a normal heel.
Although the components of the height shoes are different from the normal ones, they look the same when assembled.
It is noteworthy that high shoes and shoe lifts are different. Shoe lifts are separate thick insoles that can be inserted into any shoe. The downsides to risers are that they need to be replaced every few months (for hygiene reasons), they can be uncomfortable, and larger risers may not fit smaller sizes.[2]
Who is suitable to wear height shoes?
As we all know, there is no effective way for an adult to naturally grow taller. Height increasing shoes are designed for people who want to be taller effectively. They are for both men and women, although women are not popular. Also, if you have flat feet, you should give it a try because most people with flat feet feel more comfortable when wearing elevator shoes.
You can choose tall shoes for long-term wear or just for a special occasion. Some people choose to wear it for a long time because they get used to it and like the feeling of being taller. On some occasions, such as the wedding, it is important for a man to be taller, especially taller than “her.” People choose elevator shoes in these situations. Most people feel normal when wearing tall shoes, but to other people, the wearer appears taller and more confident.
