iJoy-Human Touch massage chairs: why I like them

If you allow me, I would like to tell you the reason why I want to write about Human Touch massage chairs. My husband (Ben) is employed by a businessman who has a ‘fleet’ of these coin operated massage chairs in shopping malls all over Australia. Ben’s job every Thursday is to collect money for the chairs here in Sydney and Ben is paid a reasonable salary to do this.

The thing is, most of these chairs generate a neat little income each week and they are next to nothing to maintain. But get this… due to misplaced chairs and vandalism, there is now only one place for Ben to collect. Just one location, with four chairs and it STILL makes a decent income.

The point I’m trying to make is that there are obviously people who LOVE these chairs! Often Ben has gone to collect the coins and a person who uses the chairs praises how they get there every week, or more. It is his treatment once a week that does not cost as much as going to a masseur. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think these are as good a massage therapist, especially if you have specific needs in that area. But they are getting much, much better. Based on my web search, one of the main selling points of the iJoy/Human Touch massage chairs is that the mechanics are based on the movements of the hands of a trained masseur. That might just be marketing hype, but suffice to say, I like the chairs and they feel good getting into the knots between my shoulder blades.

And that’s what I wanted to tell you! If you are one of those people who love massage chairs, have you thought about getting your own? Seriously, they’re not as expensive as I thought they would be.

I have to admit that the chairs we use in malls are more expensive because they have to be coin operated, but other than that I don’t see any other difference in what you can buy for your home. Chairs used at the mall are around $3,500, but did you know you can get one for home (without the coin box, of course) for less than $1,000? And in some cases even less than that.
