How to quickly stop the bad behavior of a child of 8-9 years

Children between the ages of 8 and 9 are rapidly expanding their understanding of the world. Many times, misbehavior with children this age begins with some sort of battle for the child’s freedom. Whether you ask them to do a task or go somewhere with you, they can often act very stubborn and just argue just to argue. Sometimes kids at this stage can end up sulking if they get their way, which can also be difficult to deal with if you don’t know how to handle it.

At this age, your child is trying to learn about relationships and understand more about boundaries. At this point it is important to let your child help you make decisions so that he feels included. Parents should provide their children with many opportunities for social interaction and recreational activities. It’s also good for kids this age to spend time away from their parents so they can explore and get to know who they are without their parents around. There are also ways you can encourage your child to behave well.

Incentives at this age may simply be a cash allowance at the end of the week. If they are good, you could give them their allowance and offer to take them to a store so they can buy something every week. Another incentive can be to rent a movie or invite a friend.

Anything your child likes can be used as a reward to guide your child to good behavior. You may want to make a list of rules and ask your child to follow them. If they behave well, then they should be showered with praise and a reward to keep them consistent in their behavior.

Do you want to learn exactly how to eliminate your child’s out-of-control and challenging behavior without using punishments, time-outs, behavior plans, or rewards?
