Healthy Snack Ideas You Should Know

If you’re trying to lose weight, sometimes it’s easier to eat chocolate or chips when you’re hungry. However, snacking between meals does not have to be the breaking point of your diet. In fact, if you’re willing to be a healthy snacker, you can actually not only lose weight, but create a completely healthy lifestyle. Take a look at these healthy snack ideas and see if any of them tickle your taste buds.

Let’s start with the fruits and vegetables. Some fruits and vegetables are just good on their own. Cut an apple or a kiwi. You can mix the two together to create a fun pattern on your pre-snack plate. You can also make a fruit dip with fat-free cream cheese, a little milk, and honey. As long as you use it sparingly, peanut butter is also great with apples.

If you’re in the mood for something spicier, cut up any color peppers and put them in a cracker. Again, you can use your old friend, fat-free cream cheese to hold the vegetables in place. Carrots and celery are also good snacks.

You can create a wonderful snack by mixing puffed rice, diced tomatoes and onions, lemon juice, salt and pepper. It takes a little longer than the aforementioned snacks, but it tastes great.

Look for low-fat or whole-grain crackers and divide up the appropriate portion size for quick snacks on the go. You can also make a healthy trail mix with pretzels and dried fruit, as long as you remember to stick to the serving size. Even low-fat, slightly sweetened cookies, like vanilla cookies, make great snacks if used in moderation.
