Healing Hands – Learn the difference between Pranic Healing and Reiki Healing

The ancient art of healing hands or laying hands on a person for healing has become very popular, but many people are unsure of the difference between the two modalities of Reiki and pranic healing. Both systems use Life Force Energy to bring about a healing for the recipient or patient.

Reiki was rediscovered by Mikado Usui in the 1800’s and has been widely practiced throughout the world, and even today is an extremely popular and highly respected form of hand healing therapy available.

The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words. The first is Rei, which means vital energy or spirit, and Ki, which means energy. The two combined translate to Life Force Energy, which is the foundation for natural healing.

Pranic Healing was founded by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui and is a system of energy medicine using healing hands, which uses prana to increase the energy body or the Aura, and in turn increase the vital energy of the physical body. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means vital force emery.

Reiki and Pranic Healing are unique, although the healing benefits and results are very similar in many ways, including:

1. Both modalities heal the Aura or sometimes the energy body, resulting in increased physical health.

2. Negative energy and toxin build-up are removed from the body.

3. And both modalities recognize that the body can heal itself and are an open channel for self-healing.

Although Rieki and Pranic Healing are excellent forms of hand healing treatments, they are similar in some beliefs, although the methods and techniques are different. Some include:

1. In Reiki, the use of Reiki symbols, chanting, and the repetition of healing words are used to aid healing and are not included in Pranic healing sessions.

2. In Reiki it is believed that Reiki energy is safe and that you can never receive too much energy, although Pranic Healing advises against transmitting excess energy to the recipient.

Both of these healing hand modalities are excellent and heal for the highest good of the recipient.
