You have to ask to receive

Last night they asked me to have a tarot card party at home. I had only read for one of these women before. As I drove home, I did my normal routine of centering myself, concentrating on the night, and tuning in to the vibration of the night. I was instantly aware of very specific emotions of sadness, guilt, doubt, and fear, all stemming from broken/healed hearts. Hmmm….it was shaping up to be an interesting night ahead. It is a very interesting phenomenon that people who gravitate together for a particular event, whether it is a workshop, a card party, a reiki class or a seminar, have something in common, even though they are all strangers to each other. It is an aspect of the Law of Attraction. Like attracts, but we are not always aware of what is happening.

When I started teaching, I would notice and watch this happen and marvel at the coincidence. Today I take a more aggressive approach, offering a silent “Thank you” to the universe for bringing together the right people at the time before I arrived. Ok, maybe that part is not so aggressive but it has a purpose. Simply acknowledging that the right people have come together would allow the magic to begin.

I then came to accept that my role was to act as a catalyst for an opportunity for healing and growth. Too often, when strangers meet, they skim the surface of the relationship with niceties and small talk, never getting to the “meat” of the opportunity. As a Leo, I tend to go for the meat. After all, why waste such a glorious opportunity to gain a new perspective? I have come to trust 100% that in the universal energy we are always aligned with others with whom we can co-create a new possibility. The main obstacle is that we don’t communicate our needs to others and we miss opportunities because we are busy being nice and not wanting to draw attention to ourselves and our problems.

So, just to get things going, I distance myself from all the participants by connecting them through their heart energy to the common problem: at this point, I may or may not know what that problem is about. All I know for sure is that in any group you are bound to get a wide variety of perspectives on experiences, concerns, fears, and successes. It’s like collecting information, except I don’t do anything with it. I just admit it. My job is to create the space that will allow the most relevant issues to surface. By doing just that, and addressing the issue privately, one person at a time, they develop the courage to push it forward.

The universe seems to work in mysterious ways: suddenly you may find yourself saying something or doing something you would never normally do only to discover that the person next to you fully understands and has the ability to help you. I am not suggesting that you go around talking nonsense about all your problems. Discretion is still important. But be aware that someone close to you at this time can help you with whatever you need. Does anyone in your immediate vicinity have a solution to your problem or just some advice that can help.

Be still, listen carefully and follow your heart. Your heart is the transmitter – receiver that will guide you to the next best step. Trust your universe, your heart and yourself. You, no matter how you see yourself, are a co-creator worthy of receiving the bounty of universal wisdom. Ask and you will receive all the help you need! But you have to ask!!!
