Why Exercise Is Important: Top 3 Reasons
No one wants to hear the dreaded word exercise or worse still do it. On the other hand, there are those people who exceed and end up injured or burned. The key is balance so as not to overdo it and not avoid it either. There are many reasons why exercise is important, however we are focusing on the top 3.
1. The main reason why exercise is important is because it improves our quality of life. Keeps you looking and feeling younger for longer. Aging is a fact of life; however, when you exercise you can avoid many of the health problems that take your life. Things like high blood pressure, osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Of course, to get the best results you need to combine exercise with good eating habits. What you eat is just as important as what you do.
2. Which brings us to the second main reason why exercise is important and that is weight control. Whether you’re concerned with weight gain or weight loss, exercise can do both—you can gain or lose weight. Controlling your weight is very important not only for physical reasons, but also for psychological ones. A person who does not feel good about his appearance may have low self-esteem, stress, and emotional disorders such as depression.
3. The third reason why exercise is important is that it keeps your muscles strong and flexible. As we age, muscles deteriorate, this is normal. However, when we exercise, it slows down the aging process so that we can stay independent and mobile for longer. We want to stay healthy for as long as we can to enjoy our lives and not have to rely on our families to care for us.
You can see why exercise is important for our overall physical and mental health. But remember that balance is the key. More is not always better, especially if you are a beginner. You don’t want injuries or strains, so start off easy and build up the intensity over time.
