Top 10 Natural Teeth Whitening Tips – Nursing Guide

In the past, when you wanted white teeth, you had to go to your dentist because that was the only way to whiten your teeth, usually with corrosive dental bleach. Although lye preparations have improved, they can still be harsh. Today there are many ways to whiten teeth; however, most of them involve dangerous chemicals that can see through the delicate tissues of the mouth, under the tongue. You can avoid potential teeth whitening problems you could get from chemical exposure through whitening and teeth whitening products, kits, strips, gels and systems.

There are a few natural ways to whiten your teeth or prevent them from discoloring, and in some cases, a form of natural whitening. In this article I am going to list some natural treatment tips that you can do at home.

1. First of all, the obvious thing about making regular teeth cleaning appointments is first on the list. Many people overlook this, but it’s important to not only have regular hours with the dentist’s office to schedule future appointments, but also to ask them to call and remind you to come. Once you have a schedule of once or twice a year, you’ll find that you don’t need to worry about whiter teeth as often, except if you smoke.

2. Be sure to brush and floss at least twice a day. Be sure to floss at bedtime and use a cheap gum massager to get under the gum flap. You want to avoid plaque buildup, which can discolor your teeth. Focusing on your teeth will help prevent some tooth stains.

You want to avoid getting plaque as much as possible. Take dental floss with you. And floss discreetly when eating out. At home, you can floss while watching TV if you can’t seem to floss after meals. But be sure to floss at bedtime because you have six to nine hours or more during your sleep when bacteria can work on your enamel. Be sure to rinse your mouth after eating.

3. Avoid drinking water with added fluoride or using fluoride toothpaste, as it has been reported to discolor or stain teeth. Additionally, many other countries have banned fluoride in their drinking water due to fluoride-related illnesses and symptoms.

4. If you smoke, try to cut back as much as possible, and of course it’s better for your health to quit smoking altogether, as you no doubt know. Smokers have a harder time keeping their teeth white than non-smokers, so you may have to work harder to achieve this.

5. Coffee and tea are known to stain teeth. Be sure to sip or rinse your mouth with water while drinking coffee or tea and after you’re done. Colas and wine can also cause stains on the teeth.

6. Some fruits like strawberries are excellent for teeth whitening. Strawberries can be rubbed on the teeth or crushed into a paste and brushed. Leave on teeth for five minutes. Rinse well.

You can use the inside of an orange peel which is also good for blanching. You can rub the peel directly on your teeth, or take organic dried orange peel and ground bay leaves and make a paste and brush it off. Some people use a mixture of lemon juice and salt as well. In either case, be sure to rinse your mouth thoroughly after using these natural teeth whitening treatments.

7. Baking soda has long been used for teeth whitening. Many types of toothpaste have baking soda in their ingredients due to its effectiveness. However, you can make your own baking soda bleach. Just mix baking soda with a little salt, a good cheap home remedy for teeth whitening.

8. Avoid the use of mouthwashes. In addition to alcohol, they contain other chemicals that can stain or discolor teeth. They can be easily absorbed through the delicate tissues under the tongue and absorbed into your system. A well-known mouthwash was recently reported to discolor teeth with brown stains.

9. Drink lots of water. Rinse your mouth well after each meal or snack to make sure no food remains on your teeth.

10. Try to eat a better diet with lots of raw foods: fruits and vegetables. Make huge salads. Avoid fast food and processed foods as much as possible. Avoid constant snacking. All this will help you have brighter, whiter teeth with less cavities.

Teeth whitening through the use of natural treatments will prevent exposure to harsh chemicals. Natural whitening is cheap and almost free in most cases. You can have a winning smile without damaging the tissues in your mouth or damaging the enamel on your teeth.
