Superstitions and Friday the 13th: lucky or unlucky?

Some people have considered Friday the thirteenth to be a very unlucky day, where no matter how hard you try, things can go wrong and it is out of your control to do anything about it.

This legend may have its roots in the old story that Jacques de Molay of the Knights Templar was executed on Friday the 13th and that perhaps some sort of curse exists to this day stemming from that incident which is said to have happened long ago. time.

In reality, what people believe becomes true for them, and it affects every part of their lives. If someone believes that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day, it will turn out to be an unlucky day for them.

We give too much power to things outside of us when we fall for that old superstition. In other words, some people may believe that they have no control over their destinies and that they must succumb to the bad luck that Friday the thirteenth will invariably bring them.

When we choose to believe that Friday the thirteenth is a neutral day, or better yet, a lucky day for us, then it becomes that. What we believe to be true becomes what IS true for us. It is our beliefs that create our own reality.

One theory as to why some people consider the number thirteen to be unlucky actually goes back to a time when the existing matriarchal society and its way of thinking was being threatened and overtaken by a patriarchal society.

The number thirteen represents the actual number of 28-day cycles that occur in a year, which is a calendar month for women. The female connection to the number thirteen presented a challenge to a different kind of thought and philosophy espoused by the patriarchal movement.

As the Church at that time tried to eradicate the old ways and convert people away from the older matriarchal religions and bring them under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchal Church, it was necessary to make everything positive associated with the old way of thinking bad. or unlucky. .

This is basically an outdated concept today, especially with many people seeking a return to the Divine Feminine. Even guys are trying to get in touch with their feminine sides.

So let the old superstition about Friday the 13th being bad luck die. And replace that thought with a new understanding that Friday the 13th is as lucky for you as you think it can be.

believe it. I know. And so it is.
