Social Media Marketing: 3 Tips To Get Your Business Started With Social Media

Know your strategy and understand what you want to achieve on social media (SM). I’m sure you’ve heard all the things that say, “social media is just a waste of time.” Well guess what, it may be if you let it. When you have a strategy for getting started with SM, you are starting down the road to success. Questions to Ask Yourself That Will Help You …

1. Do you know what people say about you online? When you have profiles on the different social media platforms, you can see who is talking about you, what they are saying and if it is good or not. Your SM profiles give you a way to find out, see what is happening, and see what is happening in reference to you and your business.

two. What are you trying to achieve? Your overall brand and business strategy should be thought through before connecting. Once this is done, you can easily decide where you can add value to your business. If you have a physical business, the methods for adding value are different than for someone who has an online business.

For my business, it doesn’t matter if you live in Canada, the United States, Australia or England because a lot of business can be done online.

3. You need power measure whether it is working or not. Measurement techniques with social media will be a bit different because you won’t always be able to count widgets or people. Sometimes you will have to find different measurement methods. Experimenting with SM is important to your own health and the health of your business.

There are so many different options on social media, and knowing what tactics will really help you achieve what you want is pretty critical. That is one of the reasons why it is a very good idea to involve a social media strategist before you start.

You need to be able to track and measure your impact. There is no point in keeping track of how many Twitter followers you have if you don’t get any results from Twitter. There’s no point in keeping track of how many people “like” your Facebook page if you’re not engaging them. You want them come back, check things out and interact.

Make sure you understand what you want to get from social media, because yeah, it really can take a long time if you let it. When you know what you are doing, you have a strategy, you adapt it on a regular basis, you will be successful. You will be able to do it in a fairly short period of time per day.
