Seven tips to burn calories

These are just a few habits you can adopt to start revving up your physique right away. You may have heard stories about people who have lost a lot of pounds just by switching to diet soda or walking for a couple of minutes every day. These are all small habits that make a big difference and speed up your metabolism over a period of time. It will make weight loss faster and easier by increasing your base metabolic rate and burning more calories.

1) Move more

Sedentary people burn about 1/3 of calories per day. Simply taking every opportunity to move can make a big difference in the number of calories you burn in 24 hours. Small movements will add up to loads of calories over time. The trick is to keep moving throughout the day. Write the word ‘move’ on sticky notes and post them where you will see them when you sit still. Then take every opportunity to move. Here are some ideas to burn extra calories:

– Take advantage of your feet

– Swing your legs

– Stand up and stretch

– Moves head from side to side

– Change position

– squirm and fidget

– Rhythm up and down

– Use the bathroom upstairs.

– Park in the far corner of the parking lot

– Get up when you are on the phone and walk around

– Squeeze and release your muscles.

2) Eat little and often

Evidence shows that eating small meals every 2 to 4 hours will keep your metabolic rate firing faster than larger, less frequent meals. When you eat small amounts regularly, your body is constantly working to digest and absorb food that requires energy.

3) Eat fat

If you want to feel good and keep the fat off, you have to put it on first. Fat not only tastes good, our bodies need it to function well. By consuming several servings of ‘healthy’ fats each day, you will essentially increase your calorie burning potential. Try incorporating fats like flaxseed oil, hemp oil, olive oil, avocados, salmon, albacore tuna, seeds, and nuts into your daily diet.

4) Drink Cold Water

Evidence shows that your body could expend more calories trying to bring cold water to your body temperature than hot drinks. And in general, being well hydrated will help your body’s metabolic processes burn faster.

5) Exercise With Weights

Training with weights improves your physique in several ways. By lifting weights, you can build muscle tissue. And muscle tissue is metabolically active, so it requires calories even if you’re at rest, so it helps increase the fat-consuming enzymes in your body.

6) seasoning

Eating hot spices could speed up your metabolism. Just half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day can help boost metabolism and keep blood sugar levels in check. Can’t stand the concept of cinnamon in your morning cup of coffee? Season with cayenne, crushed red pepper, or wasabi.

7) Eat more protein

Protein requires more complicated chemical breakdown by your body in order to be digested and used for fuel. For example, one hundred calories of protein can require up to thirty calories to process. Protein also takes longer to digest, so it helps stabilize your blood sugar for longer and this can help you not overeat later in the day. Eat a serving of protein at each meal and as part of your snacks and you will increase the total number of calories you burn each day.
