Penis Care 101: Facts About Condoms

When a man is trying to maintain excellent penis care and keep his tool looking and feeling great, he has a small arsenal of things to help him achieve it. In addition to a good penis health cream and a specific cleanser for his sensitive skin, a man should also have a healthy collection of condoms to help ensure that he is never without one during a sexual encounter.

Condoms not only protect against unwanted pregnancy, but also against sexually transmitted infections that could wreak havoc on a man’s penis and his life in general. But there are many facts about condoms that men are unaware of that can dramatically decrease their effectiveness. Here’s what a man should know about the rubber he uses for his penis during those intimate encounters.

1) Use a condom every time. This means every time, not just when it feels like a partner might be “risky.” The only exception to this rule is in a truly monogamous relationship where there is deep trust, and both partners have been tested and found to be in good health.

2) Store them properly. Never carry a condom in your wallet and don’t keep it in the car. The heat of the vehicle, as well as the pressure of the wallet and the body heat when it is carried around, can affect the quality of the material. Condoms should only be carried in your pocket for short periods of time.

3) Look at the expiration date. Condoms really do expire! They lose their effectiveness after the expiration date on the package. The last thing a man wants is a condom that works poorly or is less effective.

4) Just use one of them. While it may be tempting to “double up” on condoms by wrapping your penis in two at the same time, that’s not a good idea. That leads to additional friction in both condoms, which can cause both to fail. However, it is also important to consider that if a man is tempted to bend over, should he have sex with that person anyway?

5) Learn how to use them correctly. Condoms roll down in one direction; do not try to turn them the other way. Squeeze the tip of the reservoir to close it while the condom is lowered, to help retain the sperm inside. Use it only when the penis is completely hard and ready, and roll the condom all the way down to make sure it covers the entire shaft and therefore provides the best possible protection.

6) Never use them more than once. It is not okay to use a condom for a second round. It is designed to withstand a single use, not repeated. On top of that, taking the condom off and then putting it back on allows body fluids to move to places where they shouldn’t be, rendering the condom practically useless.

7) Don’t spread wealth. If a man moves between different body entrances, for example from vaginal to anal sex, he must use a different condom each time. This is for the benefit of the couple, to help decrease the risk of infection. If a man is lucky enough to be in bed with more than one partner, he should always use a different condom for each partner, to help prevent the spread of bodily fluids and possible infections.

8) Novelty condoms are for entertainment only. Condoms that have bright colors, flavors of some kind, or even those that glow in the dark should be viewed as entertainment items and used as such. Never trust them as a “real” condom.

9) Always use a water-based lubricant. Oil-based lubricants can break down the latex in the typical condom, so look for a lubricant that is water-based. It is always a good idea to use a little lubricant to help reduce friction and make sure the condom lasts.

10) Take the condom off immediately. Once the fun is over, take the condom off. Do this while the penis is still hard; softening can cause the condom to slip into the partner, and that can negate the security the condom gave everyone involved.

Taking penis care to a new level

In addition to using condoms to help ensure a healthy penis, a man can look for a high-quality penis health cream. (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil , which is clinically shown to be safe and gentle on the skin) to make sure your skin stays as smooth and healthy as possible. Look for a cream that contains a multitude of vitamins, such as A, B5, C and D, as well as alpha lipoic acid and other ingredients that ensure a healthy penis.
