Mobile car wash company, do I need an office?

Mobile car wash companies often wonder whether they should get a more legitimate looking office or to run the business. This depends on many things. If you have a larger company with many units, you would be wise. But if you’re a small business with relatively few units, it really wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

So with that said, should a mobile car care company have an office somewhere that is involved in washing mobile vehicles? This, of course, would depend on the circumstances, I suppose. In some markets it may not be a good idea to have such costs. If you are in a high-end market with a lot of units on the street, it might be a good idea, although if you have a location, you have added additional costs and will need to staff that office. Similar in theory to GE Way in that they cut costs, they were careful not to have so many bosses and offices. Most of the larger companies are like this now with regional offices managing many units. If you have a mobile business and the units are operating in a network-centric configuration, an office may not be a good idea unless you have 10 or more trucks in that market and unless your customers are visiting for some reason. If all business is done at customer locations it may not be smart to have an office as that equates to sheer costs, see? Modern communication now makes these location-based service business models somewhat obsolete, although one would think that it is somehow necessary because of the way MBA professors pretend such needs.

It only serves to show those who cannot teach. If you run your business efficiently and efficiently, you will find higher profits in the end. If you are a mobile car wash with fewer than ten units, it would be better to invest that money in your corporate identity, such as uniforms, signage, and paint jobs for your units, rather than wasting it on renting offices and an extra secretary. If you’re going to hire an additional manager, put him in a car, keep him moving, and keep tabs on your crews with some real-time on the job and with clients. Think about it.
