How Relationship Problems Affect Your Work Performance

In this new era, the need to stay and develop within your work is a vital ingredient of survival, when we are experiencing economic uncertainty or a crisis. But outside sources can get in the way of how we perform at work.

There are several vital signs that a relationship problem is beginning to affect the way you work:

1. Long hours at the office

For many people, work is the solution to avoid problems at home. We’ve all seen or know someone who is suddenly just focused on work and spending extra hours at the office.

A lot of people resent this, because it puts other employees to shame, and perhaps doesn’t even prove that the person’s performance is any better than anyone else’s. People work well at their own pace, “stay in the office” type, they may not work as efficiently or well, despite the long hours.

two. narrow-mindedness

An unhappy person may resent the happiness of others, especially when they themselves are in relationship trouble. This can lead to personal criticism and even “moral” judgments about others. This creates a negative atmosphere around a person, and if these “judgments” start to be based on jealousy, rather than belief, they can create pressure within the workplace.

3. humor changes

Arriving at work happy and slowly, as the clock ticks towards the end of the workday, moods begin to shift from happy to depressed is a classic sign of an employee in trouble. Work is a kind of escape, but only temporary, as the workday is finally over.

Four. Absenteeism

An increasing level of absenteeism is a sure sign that something is seriously wrong. No one is expected to have a perfect attendance record, but continued absenteeism is a sure warning sign.

5. alcohol problems

Alcohol problems often stem from unhappiness, if someone increasingly prefers to drink at a bar, rather than go home. This tends to be more of a classic male issue, where the warmth of a bar often substitutes for the cold chill of an unhappy home. But it leads to more problems and can destroy careers.

6.over shopping

While traditionally men always have the bar to go to, women often find solace in shopping. Shopping helps our savings, but excessive purchases are often a sign of unhappiness, even revenge.

As the beer bottle becomes the male partner’s unhappy friend, the mall and the credit card can be the unhappy female partner’s worst enemy. Self-esteem through shopping could be another way to escape from a relationship problem.

If you are truly unhappy in a relationship, the only solution is to find a way to resolve the problem. Either to end a relationship and accept the consequences or find a way to fix the differences between you.

If you value your work and your career, the sooner you do it, the better chance you have of feeling happy with yourself.
