Graduate jobs created with skilled immigrants
In the US, it is clear that more jobs could be created to boost the economy if qualified immigrants temporarily residing in the US could more easily obtain green cards or work visas. Many of the university’s undergraduate students, professionals, and graduates are foreign citizens and are trained in many disciplines including scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. In the US, foreign citizens are estimated to make up 18 percent of the college population; in New York County, a university had 3,667 foreign nationals attend during the 2009-10 school year and contributed $138.7 million to the economy.

With many loopholes in the American justice system, many companies have been allowed to bring in foreign workers at reduced rates who offer basic skills. This is displacing many American workers as more American jobs move to countries like India where the price of labor is much lower.
Therefore, the US government must do more to help secure US locations and green cards for corporate graduate recruitment opportunities for international students.
