You shouldn’t be looking for a perfect workout. The best way to lose belly fat is a combination of weight training and rigorous cardiovascular exercise. Don’t be afraid, I’m going to guide you through this.

Weight and/or strength training is of the utmost importance because studies have shown that lifting weights raises a person’s metabolism for up to 48 hours after training. When you lift weights, you are breaking down muscle, which is then rebuilt bigger and stronger. This rebuilding process requires energy, and energy comes from burning the calories you eat. Therefore, you burn more calories after you complete your workout.

Now for that intense cardio workout. Do not be scared, it will be difficult, but it is worth it. You should avoid the boring, prolonged cardio exercise that has been ingrained in your brain as the best way to burn fat. Instead you should practice HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training. Interval training is the best exercise for losing belly fat, as far as cardio goes.

Start with a 2-minute warm-up at 50%. Then go to 90% for 30 seconds, before going back down to 50% for another 1:30. Repeat the process until completing 5 to 6 cycles, and voila.
