Divination with ordinary poker cards

With the recent rise in popularity of poker, most of us have a deck or two of cards at home. The next time the poker party is over, why not have a little fun and test your guessing skills?

Card divination is an ancient art, and although Tarot cards have gained immense popularity for divination since their appearance in the 15th century, there are still readers who rely on common playing cards as their favorite psychic tools.

While the Tarot is highly symbolic in its imagery, symbols, colors, astrological and mystical references, it shares some important basic concepts with regular playing cards: elements and numbers.

By simply learning the meaning of the numbers and the four basic elements represented in a regular deck of cards, you can surprise Aunt Betty by describing her ideal fantasy man, or mystify your brother-in-law by predicting what stocks he plans to sell next. weekend.

In a poker deck, the 4 suits correspond to the 4 basic elements:

Diamonds (golds in the Tarot) represent ‘earth’ (money, manifestation, property)

Hearts (Cups in the Tarot) represent ‘water’ (emotions, relationships, love, intuition)

The clubs (wands in the Tarot) represent ‘fire’ (activity, energy, business, work)

Spades (Swords in the Tarot) represents ‘air’ (thoughts, intellect, conflict and communication)

The numbers from 1 to 10 are related to qualities or circumstances such as:

1 (As) – beginnings, action; 2 – relationships, duality; 3 – growth, friendships; 4 – work, foundation; 5 – changes, challenges; 6 – beauty, balance; 7 – spirituality, options; 8 – manifestation, success; 9 – integration, fun; 10 – totality, fullness and renewal.

This is just a very brief overview of the meanings, but you can see that if your friend asked you how your next yearly review at work was going to go and the 8 of clubs came up, that would be an indication of a good solid review and perhaps even a promotion if that’s what she’s looking for. The ace of clubs would also be welcome here, suggesting a fresh start at work, as are many of the other clubs and even the 8, 9 and 10 of other suits, which could represent a YES while providing circumstantial information.

If your best friend is wondering if she’s getting a response from the guy who asked for her phone number at a party the night before, and the ace, 2, or 6 of hearts comes up, there’s a good chance she’s not only hearing from him soon, but that this could be the beginning of a wonderful new relationship. A 5 of Hearts, on the other hand, would mean that there may be some difficulties surrounding the materialization of this relationship at the moment, and a 7 would suggest that perhaps one or the other person is not really focused on relationships at this time or such. time even when the boy is playing the field!

Jacks, Queens, and Kings represent people with traits corresponding to the suits (elements). Soon I will share an article on elements, astrology and character traits. The jacks are young people, the kings and queens are mature men and women.

As with all other forms of divination, remember to keep an open mind and an attitude of compassion and care when reading to yourself or others. Never read to anyone without their consent and always phrase your predictions in the spirit of universal love and positive intent.

Unless you have previously studied metaphysics and have developed or honed your psychic abilities, peeking into the future with poker cards may or may not provide you or your clients (those who ask questions) with momentous revelations. Remember that any prediction or idea should certainly be taken not with a grain, but with a good hit of salt. But, since we ALL have psychic abilities, it’s quite possible that even without any formal training, you’ll find plenty of food for thought and some delightfully mystical insights from your humble deck of cards, a little study, and a healthy helping of imagination. Just be careful to be nice to your ‘victims’ as they may be next to deal the cards.
