The 5 Key Dimensions of Fitness Exercises You Should Know About

When you perform physical fitness exercises correctly, your body will reach a high level of physical and mental health.

In fact, proper aerobic exercise will help you eliminate “bad cholesterol” and increase “good cholesterol.” In addition, the network that controls the blood supply in your body will be strengthened; the risk of many serious diseases will be drastically reduced; the duration of existing diseases will be significantly shortened; and infections will be avoided.

However, the 5 key dimensions of fitness exercises have different effects on different aspects of the body, although they generally help the body achieve a better state without taking drugs.

Strengthening exercises (muscle)

Here, the ability of the muscles to carry heavy objects (lifting, pushing and pulling) is developed, as well as the basic activities related to walking, standing and general posture.

You can usually build these muscles by engaging them in resistance exercises and gradually increasing the amount of load you carry during exercise. For example, isometric exercise involves trying to lift or pull immovable objects (although it is not recommended for people with hypertension); Isotonic exercise involves the use of dumbbells and other common objects used in lifting weights; and isokinetic exercise is usually performed by athletes and professionals.

Resistance exercise (muscular)

You may decide to improve the endurance of some muscle groups in your body, for example, leg muscles, abdominal mass, etc. This is a lot like cardiorespiratory endurance; actually, it focuses on the ability of the muscles to withstand long-term continuous activities.

Flexibility exercise

Joints are subject to ‘the law of use and disuse’ whereby they function less efficiently when not used regularly. This is particularly important for dancers. In physical fitness exercises, flexibility improves the effectiveness of the body’s joints. It also improves balance and posture.

Body composition exercise

The relationship between healthy body fat and body mass is one of the main concerns in physical training. Body composition exercise addresses overweight, obesity, and related concerns.

Cardio-respiratory fitness exercise

Specifically, cardiorespiratory fitness lays the foundation for other workouts by increasing your ability to endure work for longer periods and work harder. When the body uses oxygen for activities, it would not have to produce (an-aerobically) lactic acid which causes muscle fatigue. Furthermore, cardio-respiratory physical exercise has been reported to improve lifespan and greatly reduce the risk of infections.

Consequently, it is advisable to pay a higher premium for cardio-respiratory conditioning exercise, as it supports your body’s fitness and improves your well-being. Nonetheless, any of the other fitness exercises is fine depending on your own goal.
