Why isn’t my HP printer working?

Does your HP printer stop responding when printing? Do you see any error messages like ‘Error 13’, ‘Error 12’ or 50.4, Print Overflow, or BA010398 when doing a print job? If you have problems with your hp printer and need help fixing them, read the article. It compiles some of the common hp printer problems and the tried and tested solutions for them.

If your printer stopped working displaying pending print jobs, restart the spooler service. Click on the Start menu and go to To run. When in the To run window, type ‘services.msc’ (without quotes and as is) and click on the ok button. You can also press the Pay in instead of clicking on the ok button. It will take you to the Services window. Find Print Spooler, right click on it and select Resume from the drop-down list. If prompted, confirm and exit the window. Disconnect the printer cables and restart your computer. Reconnect the printer after it has fully restarted. The printer should work fine afterwards.

Update the printer drivers from the HP website. Visit the HP website and navigate to the drivers section for your HP printer model. Download the latest and most compatible drivers for the desired version of the Windows operating system. Make sure you download the correct drivers for your Windows operating system by making the correct selection. An incorrect selection can cause more problems for your printer. When done, save the downloaded file to your computer and exit the browser window. Then go to Device Manager, select your HP device, and update the drivers. When done, restart your computer and printer.

Paper jams are a common and complicated problem in printers not only in HP printers but in all brands of printers. To fix this problem for your hp printer, check the paper tray. Check whether the paper is loaded correctly or not. If not, place it correctly on the roller. Also, if you are not using the correct type of paper, it will get stuck in the printer. For example, the print command you provided is for A4-size paper type, but you put the wrong type in the paper tray, the paper will jam.

Make sure the roller and paper tray are clean and not dirty. If the roller or paper tray is dirty, the paper will jam in the printer. Take a soft cloth or cotton ball and clean the paper tray properly. If the paper tray is damaged, replace it. One caveat for you here is that it can be difficult to replace the paper tray on your own. To avoid damaging your printer or other part, seek the help of an expert.

If you are facing an Error 10 message, it means that your printer is in conflict with your computer’s memory chip. Just turn the printer off and on. You can also unplug the power cord for 5-7 seconds and then plug it back in. It will reset the printer settings and eliminate any technical problems. Your printer should work fine after the reboot.
