Everything you wanted to know about losing weight by bike

The key to losing weight is a well-balanced diet of diet and exercise. Everybody knows this. A good diet will cause you to burn more calories than you eat each day. This is why exercise is so important to your weight loss plan. Without it, you will probably end up starving.

Cycling is an excellent form of exercise. It’s rigorous enough to burn a decent amount of calories, but it’s a low-impact exercise, so your joints won’t hate it after the first hour. Typically, you can burn around 1200 calories in just a couple of hours while riding your bike.

The best part is, you don’t have to be an amazing cyclist to lose weight. You can ride your bike through the countryside and still reap the benefits. However, it is important to put in a little effort. If you drive at a leisurely pace, you won’t make much progress. Drive in a way that you push yourself, but still feel comfortable.

If you are currently overweight and have not been cycling for a while, it is probably difficult for you. Start out slow, maybe a mile or two at the most. Every week you will feel a little better and you will be able to lengthen your cycling route a little. Before you know it, you’ll be pedaling 20, 30, even 40 miles!

Remember, we are not trying to win a marathon here, we are trying to lose weight, so pedal for a couple of hours a few times a week as your other commitments allow. You will start to see a big change in your weight.

If you can’t ride a bike because you live in a city, or can’t afford one, you can go to a gym and work out on a training bike. However, getting on a real bike has several benefits.

– You will be able to see beautiful landscapes while driving.

– You will stay motivated. When you get to that hill on the road, you will have to bike or walk up it. In a gym, you can quit smoking if you don’t feel like it.

– A real trip will keep your interest longer. You will have the feeling that you are getting somewhere rather than just pedaling instead.

– Riding a real bike you become more aware that your weight is holding you back, which should motivate you to lose it.

However, be sure not to overdo it. Especially if you are just starting out. Don’t pedal two miles only to find you don’t have the energy to go back.

Also, when it comes to losing weight, it is important to be attentive to what you eat. You want to eat less than you would when you are not dieting, but remember that when you are cycling you are using more energy and therefore need a little more to keep going.
