Making Delivery Work More Fun – Spreading Joy This Holiday Season

Many delivery work professionals consider the holiday season to be the most demanding time of the year: bad weather, rushed deliveries and stressed customers magnify what is already a challenging job. However, this season also has clear advantages: there is a higher demand for delivery work, you get more interesting assignments, customers tip more generously, and perhaps best of all, there are a lot more happy people, which is a plus in any job. . As a transportation professional, you are in a unique position to help spread the joy this holiday season. Here are some ways you can do that and make your work more fun at the same time!

play christmas music

Music is pretty much a given when it comes to work on the go; in fact, it’s one of the proven tools for staying alert and sane during long solo drives or endless hours stuck in traffic. Many people may claim that they hate Christmas music, but the truth is, that’s just because it’s not their music. These days, Christmas music is produced for all tastes and styles, from ultra-traditional classical Christmas music to punk rock or grunge. Help spread the joy by creating a Christmas-themed playlist to ring the jingle bell during your deliveries. Also consider a special trumpet that plays excerpts from holiday songs just for the season.

Tip: act like a one-person carol singer during your work. Christmas music always puts people in a generous mood, you might even get better tips!

decorate your vehicle

Santa Claus employs many helpers during the Christmas season. Everyone knows that these include Santas and shop elves, but what they don’t know is that probably the most important of these helpers are the delivery job professionals who help Santa deliver gifts and packages; after all, not all presents can fit on his sleigh! You may not have a sleigh of your own, but you can still get in the holiday spirit by decorating your vehicle. If you have a larger vehicle, like a truck or van, consider printing a decal with a Christmas scene to stick to the sides of your vehicle. Brighten the days of people who see your vehicle in addition to the recipient.

Tip: Many establishments put up billboards during the holiday season. Approach one of them and offer to serve as a ‘moving’ billboard for your company – for a fee of course!

Use a suit

Whether directly or indirectly, many transportation professionals take delivery jobs related to delivering gifts during the holidays. Whether it’s transporting a shipment of toys for an expensive retail store or donated food for soup kitchens, generosity is everywhere. Let’s face it, during the holiday season, Santa’s helpers are everywhere. Join his army and help keep the Christmas magic alive.

Tip: Many retail establishments hire ‘Santa Claus’ to deliver gifts. Why not consider making this an additional service offered to your clients? Deliver your packages dressed up to give the recipient an extra special Christmas surprise!
