Is there a certain magic in believing? Part 1 of 3

Are you tired of feeling that the world is against you or do you know someone who suffers from a Negative Mental Attitude? So this article, and the next 2 in a 3-part series, are exactly what the doctor ordered. This series explores the magical power of believing in yourself and what you can do to improve your world!

“Whatever you think you can do or think you can do, get started. Action has magic, grace and power.” (Johann Wolfgang)

In the first place, to believe is “to have confidence or faith in the truth, the existence or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right to do so: only if one believes in something can one act with a purpose”.

So here we are once again, starting a New Year, 2012, all set to face another year full of world problems. Today, the most crucial problem that worries everyone is the global economy. Each of us has so many problems of our own to solve, we have to do our best to solve them or coexist with them.

Of course, many people face much more oppressive circumstances than others.

This New Year is born out of a bleak outlook, painted darkly by the stains of previous years, as many are still looking for work in an arid job market, having been laid off or struggling to keep jobs they already have. Too many people are drowning in fixed overhead, trying to support themselves and their families to stay afloat. How many retired elderly living with fixed pensions and social security benefits have had to move with their children? They simply cannot afford to live alone. In reality, there is not a single person alive without problems. Everyone’s situation is different, but no one is isolated.

So we look for a magic wand that we can wave to stabilize the national and global economy. Can we conjure up some tricks or illusions with words like “Abra-Cadabra, give us back our jobs, our homes” and “Hocus Pocus … restore our financial well-being!” As much as we would like a fairy tale ending, it doesn’t work that way. Although there may not be a magic wand to wave, or the use of supposed supernatural power to make impossible things happen, I must say that there is some magic in believing.

Just think for a moment, when we were kids, we believed in the magical world of Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny. Our parents made us believe it was true. There was a certain magic in that innocent faith. It made our eyes sparkle and made us shout with joy and glee of anticipation. It is the same magic that we, as adults, pass on to our own children as we continue to pass on joy and hope through the generations.

As adults, many people believe only what they want to believe or what can fit into their own thinking strategy. They reject everything that they do not agree with. Some can’t help but wonder why some people can progress in life while, for whatever reason, they seem locked in their own ambitions no matter how hard they try. There are those with a “get rich quick” mentality who turn to positive thinking videos. These individuals also read a wide variety of “success” books in hopes of stumbling across that royal road to absolute fortune. When they fail to understand or achieve the immediate results they so desire, they put aside their dreams and efforts in utter dismay.

Believing makes things happen, that’s true magic, and it must start with you. It is the motivating force that allows us to achieve our goals and achieve external and material results. This blind belief can become very empowering, especially if it is a belief in yourself and in infinity. So in order to claim what is rightfully yours, you must begin to take advantage of the opportunities that surround you. You need to free yourself from all self-imposed limitations. You also need to create a mental picture of what you want in life as long as it is within reason. If you have faith that you can, you will succeed as long as you envision it persistently enough until it is fully updated. Alexander Graham Bell once said: “When one door closes, another opens: but often we look so long and sadly at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.” So with this quote in mind, I’d like to probe a few ways that can shed some light on how you can be successful in your company. I hope that later you can believe that there is a certain magic in believing.

Everything you display outwardly is the result of your way of thinking 365 days a year. Each of us is directly or indirectly responsible for everything that happens in our life. We get out of life exactly what we put into it, no more, no less. We are the deciding factor in the direction of our lives. Whatever you focus on, you tend to gravitate toward, producing more of the same results from the past because “similar attracts similar.” We project both positive and negative energies on a daily basis. These energies attract similar energies and results. This Law of Attraction applies to all aspects of everyone’s life. You need to make positive decisions that lead to better results. So, without further ado, let’s see what obstacles there are that stand between you and that certain magic that happens when you create. In part 2 of this 3-part series, we will explore how you can use the power of believing in magic, thereby enhancing your PMA.
